Gustav Danielsson initially pursued studies in architecture but soon discovered that his lifelong passion for filmmaking was far more compelling. What began as a part-time hobby quickly evolved into a full-time vocation. After completing several years of film studies, he embarked on a career in the film industry.
Gustav made an extraordinary debut as a cinematographer with the critically acclaimed feature film ‘Du levande’ (You, the Living), directed by the renowned Roy Andersson. His work on the film earned him a nomination for the prestigious Guldbagge Award for Best Cinematography at the Swedish Film Gala in 2008.
Since then, Gustav has built an impressive portfolio, shooting numerous feature films, TV series, commercials and short films. He effortlessly balances projects in Sweden with international collaborations, bringing his signature vision to productions worldwide. His recent work includes the upcoming HBO series ‘A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight’, a prequel to ‘Game of Thrones’, set for release in 2025. Additionally, Gustav served as the cinematographer for three episodes of the hit Netflix anthology series ‘Black Mirror’, including the Emmy Award-winning episode ‘San Junipero’ in 2017.
