Hair & Makeup Designer Dimitra Drakopoulou has over two decades of experience across the Scandinavian film industry. Specialising in character makeup, realistic SFX makeup and hair design, Dimitra creates distinctive, believable characters through thoughtful, story-driven design. Her background in acting gives her a unique perspective on character development, bringing an added layer of depth to her work.
Driven by a strong eye for detail, she combines technical craftsmanship with curiosity, constantly exploring new methods and creative solutions to bring characters to life. Rather than following a fixed aesthetic, Dimitra allows each script and director's vision to shape her creative process, developing a visual approach that feels true to each project's unique world.
On set, she is known for her creativity, precision and collaborative approach, always striving to push the work further while fostering an environment where ideas and craftsmanship can thrive.
In 2023, Dimitra received the Amanda Award for Best Makeup Design for ’Sick of Myself’. Throughout her career, she has also contributed to Oscar-winning and internationally acclaimed productions that have screened at leading film festivals around the world.
