For Andréas Lennartsson, cinematography is all about creating the most accurate universe and atmosphere for the story. The feeling when being on set should be non-judgmental and allowing. It has to be a safe place.
He started his career in his late teens when working as a fashion photographer’s assistant. He later attended the Academy of Performing Arts (FAMU) in Prague, where he studied filmmaking and documentary photography. In 2001, he started his cinematography studies at the Swedish national film school (Dramatiska Institutet), where he graduated in 2004.
On set, his skills in handheld camera work are highly appreciated as well as his calm ways, making talents feel comfortable and safe.
