Calle von Sydow Persson works magic with light - the key to getting the right mood for that particular scene and the film. Always being surrounded by film, he grew up in a film family and his father is a well-known Swedish DoP and his mother worked as a continuity script supervisor. Calle started as a clapper loader in the -90’s and continued as 1st AC until he began to his own work as Director of Photography in the early -00’s.
Calle holds a passion for taking advantage of natural light to build the scenery around it, and to experiment with different lighting and camera movements to heighten the feeling. He loves handheld cameras and is excellent at working fast in tight situations. Always praised by both team and production for his gentle approach and good leadership.
